Garner selected by alma mater as distinguished alumni:
Jay Garner, president of the Competitive Strategies Group, was recently awarded the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences distinguished alumnus award by West Virginia University.  The presentation was held at the University’s commencement in Morgantown, WV in May of 2003.

Jay Garner has been invited to speak to the Colorado Economic Developers Association on issues related to effective marketing, and working with elected officials and boards.  The group will meet in October of 2003.

Jay Garner has been asked by ACCE to serve as a panelist at the ACCE annual confernce Octber 31, 2003 in Charlotte, NC.  The subject of the panel is the pluses and pitfalls of economic regionalism.

After condusting a national search process through an RFP, Bay County, MI has selected the team of the CSG and Whittaker Associates to conduct and provide a community economic development strategy.

Savannah Economic Development Authority selects CSG:
The Savannah Economic Development Authority has selected the CSG to offer recommendations on how the SEDA can enhance its international business development efforts.  Accorfing to representatives of the SEDA, the CSG was selected because of their expertise and proven track record of creating successful international business development efforts for communities through out the US and Puerto Rico.

Wichita Economic Devlopment Coalitition Selects CSG:
The Greater Wichita Economic Devlopment Coalititioin has seleced the CSG for recent multiple engaements.  They include strategic planning and board facilitation, followed by helping to create a comprehensive incentive policy for both the City and County to use effectively.

Steven J. Martens, president of Grubb & Ellis/Martens Commercial has asked the CSG to assit his firm of over 30 professional commercial brokers, to  develop a strategic plan for his firm.

Garner presented Honorary Life Member by IEDC:
Jay Garner, president of the CSG, has been awarded the prestigious Honorary Life Membership by the International Economic Devlopment Council.  Garner, who has 25 years experience in the economic development profession, was awarded this designation based on his many contributions to the profession.  He is a past chairman of both the American Economic Devlopment Council and its successor, the International Economic Development Council.

Jacksonville Florida Chamber and City of Jacksonville select CSG: 
The Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Jacksonville Economic Development Commision have engaged the CSG to recommend a comprehensive international business development strategy for the Jacksonville region. The CSG was selected because of its vast expertise and experience in this subject.

Missouri Economic Development Council Selects Taimerica Management Company and CSG as part of a Team:
The CSG is part of a team led by Taimerica Management Company, Inc. to recommend an effective and competitive statewide incentive policy and process along with an effective service delivery structure for the Missouri Department of Economic Development. This iniatative has been led by the Missouri Economic Development Council.

CSG to work with Louisiana Department of Economic Development:
Michael J. Olivier, Secretary of Commerce for the Louisiana Department of Economic Development, has selected the CSG to undertake a comprehensive assessment and analysis of the Department's programs and activities as it relates to business development. This assessment will lead to recommendations offered by the CSG that will allow the LED to be innovative and effective in global business development activities. According to Olivier, "I have worked with Jay Garner in the past on a similar engagement and he is the best at what he does. I wanted the best for this important assignment."

Lawton Ft. Sill Chamber of Commerce selects CSG
The Lawton Ft. Sill Chamber of Commerce in Lawton, OK has selected the CSG to conduct a comprehensive economic strategy, economic analysis and identification of industry targets for the Lawton region.  The CSG is partnering with Whittaker Associates to conduct an analysis of the industry targets and company names within those targets. The assignment is scheduled to be completed in June, 2005.

CSG Retained by the Mobile County Commission
Atlanta, GA  May 15, 2005- The Competitive Strategies Group, LLC (CSG) is proud to announce that it has been retained by the Mobile County Commission (MCC) to provide strategic advice and consulting services to the MCC in creating a comprehensive economic strategy for Mobile County.  The CSG is partnering with McCallum Sweeney Consulting of Greenville, SC, a CSG strategic partner with this assignment.

CSG will provide a series of recommendations, working with a special a Steering Committee to conduct an economic analysis and assessment of the Mobile economy since 1985, conduct an assets and challenges assessment of the County, provide recommendations for enhancing the competitiveness of the County and providing an implementation plan for execution of the recommendations.
